I am searching for descendents of Not Afraid of Pawnee .. a delegate of the Yankton Sioux to Washington DC. He was married to ? Comes Out residing at Pine Ridge.
The US Federal Census lists the household as such:
Scili Kokipeani Not Afraid Pawnee 48
Glinapa Comes Out 40
Lizzie Not Afraid Pawnee 3 mos
it has also been suggested that the following were also his children
(?) Her Pipe1 (F)
(1884 - ),aka Tacanumpa
"daughter" and residing in the home of (?) Not Afraid Of Pawnee on the U.S. Indian Census Rolls taken on July 1, 1892 at Pine Ridge Indian Reservation, Wounded Knee District, Shannon Co., South Dakota ., USA.1
and Hearing Voices born 1891 Also known as (?) Ho Tawa.2 Also known as (?) Taho
She was listed as "daughter" and residing in the home of (?) Not Afraid Of Pawnee on the U.S. Indian Census Rolls taken on July 1, 1892 at Pine Ridge Indian Reservation, She was listed as "daughter" and residing in the home of (?) Not Afraid Of Pawnee on the U.S. Indian Census Rolls taken on July 1, 1894 at Pine Ridge Indian Reservation, Wounded Knee District, Shannon Co., South Dakota ., USA.2 She was listed as "daughter" and residing in the home of (?) Not Afraid Of Pawnee on the U.S. Indian Census Rolls taken on June 30, 1895 at Pine Ridge Indian Reservation, Wounded Knee District, Shannon Co., South Dakota ., USA.3
It is possible he had a great granddaughter that could have been Lizzies Daughter.. name Elinor? aka Elinor Lukins?? born about November 8, 1940..her BC says Virginia ..her name may have been given after the fact.. She was handed off to a man who took her to Virginia .. she has only known this man as her father known as Forest Lukins (but could be a name change)
